Santa Teresa Soul Retreat

June 11–18, 2027  ·  A seven-day women's retreat

Wake to the ocean. Greet the sunrise with yoga. Spend a week coming back to yourself.

The invitation

Imagine waking to the sound of the ocean, greeting the sunrise with yoga, nourishing your body with vibrant tropical meals, and spending a week reconnecting with yourself in one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beach communities.

Join a small, intimate group of ten women or fewer for a week of movement, adventure, deep rest, meaningful connection, and renewal.

Santa Teresa sits on the Pacific side of the Nicoya Peninsula, where the jungle runs almost to the sand. It is the kind of place where the day is organized around light rather than a clock, and where a week is long enough to actually feel the difference.

How the hours actually go

No two days are identical, and excursion days shift things around. This is the rhythm most days follow.

Your home for the week

One house, ten women, steps from the water

We stay together in a private home in Santa Teresa, designed for community while still leaving room to unwind on your own.

Shared spaces can make or break a retreat, so room assignments are matched thoughtfully rather than drawn from a hat. On the registration form you will be asked about:

  • Early riser or late sleeper
  • Quiet or social by preference
  • Snoring and light sleeping
  • How much privacy you want
  • Friends attending together

The goal is simple. Everyone comfortable, everyone rested, everyone at home.

Is this retreat for you?

This week is built for women who want to

  • Slow down and recharge
  • Deepen their yoga practice
  • Connect with supportive, like-minded women
  • Enjoy adventure balanced with rest
  • Return home feeling lighter, clearer, and inspired

No advanced yoga experience is necessary. Just an open heart and a willingness to receive.

Participation is limited to ten women. Small groups allow for deeper connection, personalized attention, and a relaxed atmosphere. Once the spots are filled, a waitlist opens.

Kristine, retreat host and yoga teacher

Your host

Kristine

Kristine has practiced yoga for 26 years. She completed her 200-hour teacher training with CorePower Yoga in Point Loma, San Diego, in March 2008, began teaching privately in 2010, and started leading group classes in 2013.

She teaches vinyasa, yin, and bhakti. Her ongoing study includes a Dao Flow Women's Health Yoga certification and years of bhakti retreats with Krishna Das. Bhakti sits at the center of her own practice, and she is happiest making it feel welcoming rather than rarefied. She has led mini retreats, restorative Tune-Ups, and teacher-training modules in Sanskrit and mantra.

Away from the mat she plays tabla and piano, cooks, gardens, hikes, and travels. She lives in Western North Carolina.

Two open items Studio names are not listed yet. Wild Lotus Yoga Collective in Flat Rock, NC was confirmed as a real business; Nourishing Life Yoga and Massage did not turn up in a business lookup and needs confirming before it goes on the page. Kristine may also want to say whether she has led a week-long international retreat before.

Two open items The original policy included a waitlist exception for late cancellations. It was removed here because it had no timeline or decision rule. Add it back with specifics, or leave it out. Also unanswered: whether there is a minimum number of guests for the retreat to run, and whether registration closes on a set date.

Getting there

Travel

The retreat begins and ends in Santa Teresa.

The recommended arrival airport is San José International (SJO). A group shuttle from SJO to Santa Teresa is included for guests arriving within the designated window, and return transportation to SJO at the end of the week is included as well.

If you would rather fly into Liberia International (LIR), or arrive outside the scheduled transfer times, you are welcome to do so. Transportation to and from the retreat is then your own responsibility, and we will send recommended options.

Detailed travel information and recommended flight windows go out after registration.
